Glimpses from my private war

Glimpses of a Private War

Glimpses of a private war
I fought while in my youth,
Return to haunt my sleepless dreams
With their insistent truth.
Glimpses of my private war
Are with me every day,
Keeping fresh my insane youth
In a subtle way.
Glimpses of my private war
Come to me in the night;
They gnaw me with their private dread
And stab me with their fright.

Glimpses of that private war
Intrude in all my days;
They draw me back, with fearsome strength
To wander in their maze.

Glimpses of our private war
Confine us to our past
Until we find some private way
To struggle free at last.

Greetings from Oregon. This page reflects some of my attempts to explore issues that many of us have dealt with from earlier days. Please contact me by e-mail if you find anything of interest or just wish to talk. A couple more pictures below from a past life. Regards.

My own "private way" has been a long, difficult struggle. Much of the help I have found comes from a changed understanding of reality. The link below contains examples of the ideas that have helped to shape that understanding. I offer it with respect and hope for those who continue to search for healing, understanding, and integration.

A good bit of anxious time was spent waiting for choppers to take us out on patrol. A fair bit more was spent in the bush waiting for them to come back to take us home.
